Maybe you'd like to try EASI instead of ASIO. It is x-platform and at 
least as powerful as ASIO. OK, there aren't so much audio-cards coming 
with EASI drivers as with there are with ASIO drivers, but the number is 
growing.

AND: EASI is public, right from the start and no Non Disclosure Agreements
