[music-dsp] FIRs: convenience or necessity?

When I last looked into this, the consensus among technology vendors seemed
to be that you'd get inversion for some percentage of the population unless
you measured each person individually. Myself, I pretty much always get the
image behind me for the 3D spatialization technologies I've auditioned.
