Hi,
it's so silent on the list, I thought I'd share some insights about
optimizing MacOS X Applications.
I installed CHUD (Computer Hardware Understanding Tools) 2.0, and it
lets you inspect incredible things in your software in a yet
comfortable manner. Especially Shikari, which measures how long things
take and lets you go through disassembled code with graphical
representation of where the cpu cycles went, is a no-brainer. Next,
MONster, counts events like cache misses, measures bandwidth etc. etc.
- There are more tools and options over options which can't be
explained here (I havn't found out about all of them, but the docs are
quite exhaustive with step-by-step optimization examples).
Folks, these tools are incredible. If you want to get rid of
performance problems, they simply beam out of your screen into your
mind. Best: They are free!
Cheers,
;) Urs

Why I create audio plugins instead of using them?
