I agree with all you said about convolution, especially
that's lot of fun. Two years ago, I programmed a small
Spectral-Vocoder (TI 67XX) in this way (I used Overlap-Add)
and the algorithm wasn't optimezed at all. But it worked.
Some time ago I tried to make a VST-Plugin out of it.
I hat problems with the multiplication of the spectra.
Can you give me some advise? Angelo: you wrote, that there
exist "processor-dependent low-level coding in assembly".
I have no clue:
(1) where to look for this things (Two days ago I
downloaded P4 instruction *.pdf)
(2) how to understand it
(3) and how to implement this instruction
into C++ source code.
I also had the problem, that the amplitude of the result
of the multiplications where incredible. How must I adjust this amplitude.
By the way TriMedia is a "multimedia" float DSP from Phillips. Mostly used for Video compression. But Merging
uses this DSP on there Harddiskrecording-Interface-Card.
Thanks for help, Joerg.
