Hi all,

I'm working on loading parameters of a MIDI sound bank in a soft
synthesizer. But even if I can read file and found index each time a command
is passed trough the DSP, this is a lot of CPU lost.

Does somebody knows if all the parameters are loaded just one time at
startup or if they are loaded each they are called. The difference between
the 2 methods is the amounts of memory allow to stock the parameters. In a
typical MIDI soundfont bank with 128 instruments, there are about 50
parameters for each sample. And it can be more than 1 sample per instrument
so the memory amount is considerable.

Now with recent sound card, they do not have memory on the card herself.
They use the computer memory.

Somebody has answer ?

Martial
