Group delay is -d(phase)/d(omega). For a constant delay, this would be a
constant, the phase would describe a straight line whose angle with the
omega axis corresponds to the delay. So, phase = -delay * omega.

Try to find the best match by subtracting this from the phase you found
via FFT. Minimal error energy cannot be found without looking at spectral
energy density (how much energy per frequency bin).
