That's why manufacturers have developed timestamped USB-MIDI protocols
(at least on their Windows and Mac OS drivers), allowing software MIDI
sequencers to develop a timing as precise as that of older hardware
sequencers. Still nothing compares to that lovely Yamaha QY-20 playing
techno beats like a hammer. :)
