[Portaudio] Issue with Native Instrument Audio 8 DJ

It seems that any application that uses Portaudio seems to lock up the 
entire system. Once it locks up, there is no output, nothing in 
/var/log/messages or dmesg, it's just a solid lock up.

I have tried this with Mixxx and Audacity. I am working with 64 Studio. 
On Ubuntu Studio, I could select the device and it sort of worked, but 
would still cause serious problems when I would close the program 
(system lock).

Any ideas on fixing this issue?
