Issues in Rock Music and Rock Culture

An ethnomusicological approach to issues in contemporary rock-and-roll culture, examining the significance of politics, gender, race, class, economics, censorship, stylistic development, the creative process, and group dynamics. Students will be required to conduct a small-scale fieldwork project in New York City.

The preprequisite for this course is V2010 Rock, or instructor's permission.
