Examines the works of Bohemian and Moravian composers between 1850 and 1925 against the background of Czech life and culture, and in relation to musical Romanticism. Highlights three composers, focusing particularly on opera, choral music, orchestral, and chamber works.
The prerequisite for this course is C1123 or F1123 Masterpieces of Western Music or BC 1001x or 1002y Introduction to Music, or equivalent.
