PFG: Roosevelt Arts Project "NextGen Music" Event
(1/17/2015)

Something is 'in the air' here in Roosevelt, something right (or so I would argue). At our annual meeting last spring when we set the schedule for Roosevelt Arts Project events, I suggested that we do an evening featuring music by some of our younger musicians in town. We have three very talented composers working in "techno/ambient" music. I had heard some of their music on-line, and it is terrific. Here was the information about the event that was published in the 2014-2015 RAP brochure:

NextGen Music - Techno/DJ Ambient Roosevelt Musicians

Several younger Roosevelt natives are now making their mark in the world
as composers-performers working with techno, DJ, and chill/ambient music.
Come hear what they do and enjoy an evening of exciting new music. Tentatively
scheduled: Nicholas Malkin (Afterhours), David Atwood, and Jack Leech (Nurko).
Additional ambient music provided by Brad Garton with friends Terry Pender
and Karl Fury.

Note the "additional ambient music" tag at the end. Yep, it's the old guys! The pieces above are recordings we made that afternoon and then that evening. The event went really well, with Nick Malkin 'skyping' in to talk to us from Los Angeles. David Atwood performed live, very nice, and Jack's music (DJ Nurko) was great.
