NOTE: This is a mono version of a stereo original. Please contact the composer for a stereo copy of this piece.
BobTalk is a piece of computer music consisting entirely of voice sounds. More specifically, the material is taken from a few sentences spoken by Professor Robert Zierolf of the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, where he is the Head of the Division of music Composition, Theory, and History. The original statements were recorded from a radio discussion Dr. Zierolf participated in regarding technology and art. From this appearance, I chose a brief comparison Zierolf made between Western and Eastern cultural philosophies. Then I sent these sentences through some rhythm-generating computer programs that I had written to create the piece. BobTalk was written at the Columbia University Computer Music Center in December, 1995.
