Hole in Pocket

Hole in Pocket is a computer music miniature, made from sonic scraps that were lying around my hard disk. It was composed in the autumn of 1998 specifically for submission to the 1999 ICMC (International Computer Music Conference) in Beijing, China, where it was premiered in October, 1999.

The music is a gently swirling collage of simple musical ideas that generally seem to be headed somewhere, but don't necessarily ever arrive there. The sounds in the piece are derived from several sources, including completely synthesized material and samples from acoustic instruments that have been processed.
