Algorithmic Composition

Algorithmic composition plays an important part in all the research. I have a very pluralistic and pragmatic approach to working out my musical problems. It is not uncommon for me to use spreadsheets, C programs, Max, Soundhack, and Finale in the same passage of an electro-acoustic piece, or even an acoustic instrumental piece. For me, it is crucial that musical goals dictate how music technology is applied and developed instead of the limitations of existing tools dictating what can or cannot be accomplished musically.
