Had a great concert with Ekmeles and Columbia Composers at Issue Project Room in Brooklyn! It’s always so interesting to hear the variety of music coming out of Columbia University’s graduate student composers. Ekmeles nailed the performance of “The Animal After Whom Other Animals Are Named” and I’m excited to announce that I should have a video and recording (that I am VERY happy with) up on the site shortly! Thanks to everyone who was involved.

So proud of Ekmeles for their killer concert at the DiMenna Centre here in New York. I’m feeling very grateful to live in a city that has access to such dynamic, passionate, and committed musicians. They really did justice to Nicole Sealey’s text, and I was very happy with the premiere of my new work for 6 singers + electronics "The Animal After Whom Other Animals Are Named”. If you missed it, come hear it again on Dec.3rd. A big thank you to the Canada Council for the Arts for making this commission possible!
