The Department of Music notes with sadness the passing of renowned pianist, composer, and conductor Jacques-Louis Monod (Toulouse, France, February 25, 2917 - September 21, 2020).
The Department warmly congratulates Dr. Anthony Fort, who successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Music Theory titled "Rhythm in Some Modernist Classical Music Sounds Different Depending on How You Move" on June 19, 2020.
Women, Power, and Popular Music is a new summer course being offered by Professor Ellie Hisama through the Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality and crosslisted in Music. Through the new Alumni Summer program, alumni/ae are permitted to register for summer session courses as auditors for a reduced fee.
