Cameron Fraser

Cameron Perry Fraser is an artist, instrumentalist and engineer living in New York City. He is a Columbia University MFA candidate in the Sound Arts program, works at the Columbia Computer Music Center as their technician and assists teaching Recorded Sound. Cameron builds unique acoustic/electric instruments, is an avid acoustic ecologist and composer. His work echoes the Aeolian harp, band organ, hydraulophone, calliope and player piano. Today microcontrollers take the place of the piano roll and solar panels replace steam players. Water, wind, sun, leaves and skin are all conduits for his musical expression. His work has exhibited around the world including instilations and performances at Pioneer WorksHigh Desert Test SitesExperimental IntermediaThe SmellWave Farm and the Pasadena Convention Center among many others.
