Katie Aiken holds an M.A. in Ethnomusicology from Columbia University and an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Denver. Katie has worked for museums, performance venues, folklife institutions, and cultural non-profits. She has served in positions at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in D.C., The Laboratory of Art and Ideas in Colorado, Irish Arts Center in NYC, Western Folklife Center in Nevada, and Staten Island Arts in NYC. She teaches, writes, edits, and collaborates on themes of music, tradition, popular culture, subculture, affect, community, decolonialism, and public practice in the Americas (particularly, the United States and Argentina). Katie currently resides in Denver, Colorado.
