Nandini joined the PhD program in Ethnomusicology in 2013, and works on affect, poetics, and the musics of South Asia. In her current research, she focuses on the ordinary spaces of Bengali-American immigrant life through the lens of Rabindrasangeet, or the songs written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore.
