Alumni News: Dr. Beatriz Goubert Appointed Associate Editor for Latin America-RILM

The Columbia University Ethnomusicology community is delighted to congratulate our recent PhD alumnus Dr. Beatriz Goubert, who has been selected as the associate editor for Latin America at RILM (International Repertory of Music Literature) in New York. Beatriz will maintain and expand RILM networks in Latin American countries, making sure that music scholarship from the region is fully and accurately represented in RILM abstracts. She will also track the development of scholarship and publishing in Latin American countries from academic to traditional and popular musics.

She is also working on her publication on Muisca music performance and multicultural politics of recognition and acting as the General Secretary (2019-2021) for IASPM, the International Association for the Study of Popular Music.
