The Center for Ethnomusicology featured indigenous rappers, producers and activists Dioganhdih and Chhoti Maa on Friday, September 6th.
Collaborating to elevate indigenous voices through hip-hop, the two artists were featured in a free public event. Ethnomusicologist Lauren Amsterdam moderated a conversation with the artists, discussing healing in their respective cultures, legacies of resistance and the connection between hip-hop and strong oral traditions. The conversation was followed by an impromptu performance and a Q&A session.
