The Department warmly congratulates Dr. Orit Hilewicz, who successfully defended her PhD dissertation in music theory, Listening to Ekphrastic Musical Compositions, on April 26, 2017. Dr. Hilewicz's dissertation was advised by Professor Joseph Dubiel, and her committee also included Professors Lydia Goehr, Ellie Hisama, Benjamin Steege and Dr. David Gutkin.
