Dr. Courtney Bryan (DMA '14) has been named the next Composer in Residence at Opera Philadelphia. She began her post earlier in the fall of 2022. Opera Philadelphia's Composers in Residence has provided composers with great development and freedom in creating new operatic works for more than a decade. Dr. Bryan hails from New Orleans originally and is also currently the Albert and Linda Mintz Professor of Music at Newcomb College in the School of Liberal Arts, Tulane University.
