A new book by Dr. Harald Kisiedu (Ph.D. ’14, Historical Musicology), European Echoes: Jazz Experimentalism in Germany, 1950-1975, has just been published (in English) by Wolke-Verlag, a leading German publisher. Between 2015 and 2017, Dr. Kisiedu was a postdoctoral fellow with the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation at the University of Guelph and at Memorial University, Newfoundland. Since 2018 he has served as a lecturer at the Institute of Music at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. His work has been published in Critical Studies in Improvisation/Ètudes critiques en improvisation, The Wire, the New West Indian Guide/Nieuwe West-Indische Gids, and The Grove Dictionary of American Music.
