Dr. Will Mason (GSAS '19) Releases "Tendrils" with his Band Happy Place

Dr. Will Mason (Music Theory, 2019) and his band Happy Place have released their microtonal sophomore album "Tendrils," recorded in Brooklyn two days before lockdown started in March. Happy Place is working with Exit Stencil records to put the album on vinyl and digital. Will is joined on drums by Kate Gentile, along with Charlotte Mundy and Elaine Lachica on voice and Dan Lippel and Andrew Smiley on guitar; the album was mixed by Machines with Magnets in Rhode Island. Will describes the album as dark, anxious, mathy, and loud. The album was just written up in the Arts section of the New York Times, as well. Give it a read (and a listen)!

To listen to the album, visit the band's bandcamp site. The album is also available on Amazon, iTunes, Spotify, and elsewhere.

Dr. Mason is currently an Assistant Professor of Music at Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
