Andrew Haringer is currently a Teaching Fellow at Quest University in Canada.

He received his PhD in historical musicology from Columbia in 2012, with a dissertation on the early works of Franz Liszt. In addition to continuing his research on Liszt and Romantic pianism, he has recently written on recognizable musical gestures such as marches and horn calls that generate musical meaning. He plans to combine these interests in a project on Liszt's music semiotics. His work as a researcher and lecturer has led him to such varied locales as Paris, Weimar, Edinburgh, Lucca, Utrecht, and Grand Forks, North Dakota.
