Christopher Doll is Associate Professor of Music at Rutgers' Mason Gross School of the Arts.Dr. Doll is a theorist-composer specializing in recent popular and art music, particularly in tonality and intertextuality. He earned degrees at Columbia University (PhD with Distinction, 2007), the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (MM, 2000), and Case Western Reserve University (BA, 1998), and he was a Graduate Council Fellow at Stony Brook University from 2000-2002.He delivered the AMS/Rock and Roll Hall of Fame lecture, "Nuclear Holocaust, the Kennedy Assassination, and 'Louie Louie': The Unlikely History of Sixties Rock and Roll" in March 2014. He is the author of Hearing Harmony: Towards a Theory for the Rock Era: Toward a Tonal Theory for the Rock Era (University of Michigan Press, 2017).
