Demetrius completed his B.A. in Music and History at Amherst College. His research interests include nostalgia, memory, and temporality in music, especially in music of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, as well as in video game music. He is currently working on a dissertation, “Romanticism’s Children: Childhood and Role-play in Music from Schumann to Final Fantasy,” supervised by Prof. Walter Frisch, which explores nostalgia in musical evocations of childhood by Schumann, Brahms, Debussy, Ravel, and role-playing video games.
