Mark Seto is Assistant Professor of Music at Connecticut College, and a PhD alumnus in Historical Musicology from Columbia University, where his research focused on nineteenth-century orchestral music, aesthetics, nationalism, and performance. His dissertation, entitled "Symphonic Culture in Paris, 1880-1905: The Bande à Franck and Beyond," was advised by Walter Frisch and Karen Henson. An active performer, he is also the Music Director of Morningside Opera and a conductor and violinist in the Chelsea Symphony.

In 2013, Dr. Seto published the introduction to a new score of Vincent d’Indy’s Fantaisie sur des thèmes populaires français (Munich, 2013).
