Dr. Courtney Bryan Named MacArthur Fellow

Courtney Bryan (DMA '14) has been named a 2023 MacArthur Fellow.

Courtney Bryan (DMA '14) has been named a 2023 MacArthur Fellow. She is currently the Albert and Linda Mintz Professor of Music at Tulane University in New Orleans and composer-in-residence at Opera Philadelphia. Bryan's music weaves together jazz, classical and sacred music elements for many different kinds of ensembles. Running the gamut from solo instruments to opera, she infuses current social and political struggles into her works.
