Dr. Kate Soper (DMA '11) has won the 2023–24 Frederic A. Juilliard/Walter Damrosch Rome Prize. These fellowships support artists and scholars in independent work and research in the arts and humanities. Starting in September of 2023, each winner will receive a stipend, workspace, and room and board at the Academy’s eleven-acre campus on the Janiculum Hill in Rome. The American Academy in Rome describes the Rome Prize as "the gift of time and space to think and work." For more information on the Rome Prizes, read the announcement.
