Peter M. Susser’s “Gold Dome,” for Organ was performed by Marcia Hempel on Saturday, October 1, at 3:00 at First Congregational Church, 697 Main St, Harwich Center, Mass. The church has a Hutchings/Beaudry tracker action organ. The concert celebrates the church’s 275th Anniversary, and the pieces represent organ music through time, beginning with the Renaissance through the present. Some of the many composers include Frescobaldi, Hummel, Brahms, Dupre, Susser, Gawthrop, Hempel, Joplin, and Harmon.
