The Department warmly congratulates Jonathan Ligrani, who successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Music (Historical Musicology), “Manuscript Culture and Patrician Identity in the Florentine Madrigal,” on December 11, 2023. Jonathan's dissertation was advised by Professor Giuseppe Gerbino, and his committee included Professors Julia Doe, Susan Boynton, Jo Ann Cavallo and Emiliano Ricciardi (UMass Amherst).
