Professor George Lewis's piece "Tales of the Traveller" had its US premiere, but the most exciting part about the performance was one of the guest soloists: a computer program named Voyager, originally programmed by George Lewis in 1987. New York Times critic Seth Colter Walls was in attendance and wrote a laudatory review of the concert. The other guest soloist was flutist, composer and bandleader Nicole Mitchell, and both soloists were joined by chamber group Ensemble Signal.
