The Arts and Sciences Graduate Council (ASGC) is Columbia University’s student government representing M.A. and Ph.D. students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) and affiliated programs. ASGC is committed to improving the quality of life for Columbia graduate students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences through:
- Providing over $50,000 for student-led academic initiatives and student groups.
- Serving as a link between students and administration, as well as advocating on behalf of graduate students when necessary.
- Organizing social and cultural events for all GSAS PhD & Masters students, such as Orientation Events, Monthly graduate student happy hours, and others.
- Advocating broader societal issues and organizing community-building events.
