I graduated this May from Cal State LA with a BA in Asian & Asian American Studies. I am a first generation Mexican American who grew up in South Central Los Angeles and Mexico. My undergraduate thesis focuses on the local heavy metal scene in Southern California exploring the relationship between the local scene and the larger music industry. Additionally, I am a photographer and utilize the visual arts to support the communities I work with as well as to create accessibility in my academic projects.
