Celebrating Professor Brad Garton

A member of the Columbia University Music Department faculty since 1987, Brad Garton is a celebrated composer and educator and a major figure in the history of computational audio and computer music. Please join us for an evening honoring his music and research on November 5th at the Columbia University Italian Academy.

With the establishment of Columbia’s Computer Music Center in 1995, Brad created a world-class community of creative makers who have gone on to establish and lead computer music research facilities at colleges and universities around the globe, develop innovative and impactful audio software and technology, and share the joy of a life invested in music and art. On the occasion of his retirement, friends, alumni, colleagues, students, and staff will come together to show appreciation for his mentorship, creativity, and generosity.

The evening will feature a projected virtual walkthrough, led by Brad, of his expansive virtual reality work, followed by a reception (as well as a few surprises).

Please click here to RSVP. Whether or not you are able to attend, please consider leaving Brad a congratulatory note here.

We are looking forward to welcoming you!

Best,

Seth Cluett
