Forget All This

Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street, New York NY 10002

Canadian, Chilean, and American composers from Columbia University collaborate with emerging talents on the New York choreographic scene to create original works for music and dance. Each piece investigates a different approach to the creative process, exploring improvisation, composition, electronics, and lighting. An interactive talk-back session will follow the show.

This is the final performance for Prof. Zosha Di Castri's graduate seminar at Columbia University, "Composing for Dance." After months of study and experimentation, we heed Jonathan Burrows concluding advice in A Choreographer’s Handbook: “When you’ve forgotten these ideas they will have become yours and be ready to use. The idea you need will spring out of nowhere when you need it. Forget all this.”
