"More hispano: Sacred Song from Early Modern Iberia” presents choral music from sixteenth-century Spain, performed by University of Connecticut’s Collegium Musicum under the direction of Eric Rice, in collaboration with singers from Columbia’s Department of Music. Curated by music historians Susan Boynton and Eric Rice, the program includes chant from the Mozarabic Chapel founded in Toledo Cathedral in the early sixteenth century and three Iberian polyphonic settings of the hymn “Pange lingua.”
Live at St. Paul’s Chapel — or, watch on YouTube.
If you don’t have a current Columbia ID, you MUST register at the event website. (Please do not use the same email address to register multiple people; this will confuse the system.) Registration will close at 11am sharp the day before the concert.
