The Department of Music would like to invite you to a tribute to Fred Lerdahl, Frtiz Reiner Professor of Musical Composition, who is retiring after 35 years of teaching at Columbia, including 20 years as Head of its composition program. There will be a concert in honor of Professor Lerdahl in which four of his compositions will be performed, including the world premiere of Cyclic Descent, for piano and large ensemble and the New York Premiere of String Quartet No. 4 “Chaconne” and Three Bagatelles, for violin and guitar. The concert will take place at Weill Recital Hall, in Carnegie Hall. Free tickets can be picked up at the Weill Hall Box Office until evening of performance or reserved through Beth Pratt at [email protected] until October 5th. (*Limit 4 tickets per person)
