Please save the date for the symposium Kitchen Table Praxis: Recipes for Belonging in Electronic Music, happening virtually April 8, 2022, 12:30 - 6:00pm, ET.

The wonderful Naomi Waltham-Smith will deliver a keynote, entitled "Strange Sound: Capital, Race, and the Field Recorder in Urban Marginalization."

She will be followed by a fantastic line-up of thoughtful contributors from the field of electronic music and science education studies, including King Britt (UCSD), Cristobal Martinez (Postcommodity/SFAI), LaFrae Sci (Willie Mae Future Sounds), Bonnie Jones (Brown University), Hannah Kye (Rowan University), Lauren Hayes (Arizona State University), Abby Aresty (Oberlin), and Columbia University's Brad Garton, Seth Cluett, Diana M. Rodriguez and Suzanne Thorpe.

This will be hosted by the Society of Fellows and Heyman Center for the Humanities, and co-sponsored by the Computer Music Center at Columbia University (CMC) in addition to The Department of Music at Columbia University and Committee on Equity and Diversity of the Columbia University School of Arts and Sciences.
