Course Description: An introduction to the potential of digital sound synthesis and signal processing. Teaches proficiency in elementary and advanced digital audio techniques.

Recorded Sound, with Professor David Adamcyk. TR 1:00pm – 4:40pm, MUSI3630S (Call Number 10187)
Course Description: Gain an understanding of recording, editing, mixing, and mastering of recorded music and sounds using Pro Tools software.

Session B (July 8–August 15)

The Song Within Us: Composition, Analysis, Peformance, with Professor Peter Susser. TR 1:00pm–4:10pm, MUSI2240UN (Call Number: 10186)
Course Description: This class offers insight through composing, analysis, and performance for the composer, singer/songwriter, and performance artist.

Film Music, with Professor Benjamin Steege. TR 9:00am –12:10pm, MUSI2335UN (Call Number 11051)
Course Description: Film Music is an introduction to the history and theory of film music. We will survey the development of film-musical art, beginning with accompaniment to silent film in various national contexts, through the emergence of the Hollywood studio model, continuous changes in the use of popular song across a range of cinemas (including but not limited to "New Hollywood), and ending with contemporary examples of music's role in integrated sound design.
