B Michael and Mark-Anthony Edwards Inspire Columbia Students with Insights on Creative Synergy—Music and Fashion

On October 8, 2024, Professor Ruth Opara welcomed esteemed American fashion designer B Michael and his manager, Mark-Anthony Edwards, to her “Music and Fashion” class in the Department of Music at Columbia University. The duo visited to discuss B Michael’s book, MUSE: CICELY TYSON AND ME – A RELATIONSHIP FORGED IN FASHION, and to explore how music and musicians have influenced his designs throughout his career.

The Department warmly congratulates Charlie Kirchen, who successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Music (Music Theory), “Generic Mobility in the Compositional Process of Otis Jackson Jr. at the Turn of the Millennium,” on September 13, 2024.
