Columbia University DMA composition student Kristupas Bubnelis will present two major orchestral works at the National Philharmonic Hall in Vilnius this October, alongside the release of his debut album, ACCORDATURA, on the Music Information Centre Lithuania label.

On October 16, Bubnelis's Jubilisma, a new 30-minute concerto for piano trio and symphony orchestra, will receive its world premiere at the opening concert of the Gaida Festival, performed by the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra under its principal conductor, Modestas Pitrėnas, with the acclaimed FortVio ensemble. The work explores unconventional tuning systems, microtonal harmony, and the shifting relationship between soloists and orchestra. The programme also features John Adams's Violin Concerto, performed by Ilya Gringolts.

On October 22, Bubnelis's Substantia Ferruginea for string orchestra will receive its Vilnius premiere at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, performed by the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra under Jonathan Stockhammer. The concert will also include György Ligeti's Violin Concerto, with soloist Leila Josefowicz.

These performances coincide with the October 12 release of ACCORDATURA, Bubnelis's debut album, featuring Substantia Innominata and Substantia Alba, recorded by the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra with conductor Elias Peter Brown and soloists Rimvydas Savickas and Andrius Rekašius.
