The Department warmly congratulates Dr. Althea SullyCole, who successfully defended her PhD dissertation in Music (Ethnomusicology), titled “Mandé Instruments at the Met: Analyzing Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Context of an African Musical Instrument Collection in the Museum” on October 13, 2022. Dr. SullyCole's dissertation was advised by Professors Aaron Fox and Alessandra Ciucci, and her committee included Professors Chris Washburne, Paulla Ebron (Stanford), and Mariame Sy.
