Dr. Calder Hannan (GSAS '24) Appointed Assistant Professor of Music in Music Theory at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music

Dr. Hannan (GSAS '24) will start at IU Jacobs School of Music on August 1, 2025.

Dr. Calder Hannan (GSAS '24) has been appointed as Assistant Professor of Music in Music Theory at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. His appointment starts August 1, 2025. Dr. Hannan's dissertation, finished in the Spring of 2024, delves into how tempo is played with in metal music. In the announcement on IU's website, Dean Abra Bush says that Dr. Hannan's experience with experimental popular music will be a valuable addition to the school's curricula.
