Dr. Hannah Kendall (DMA, '24) has been profiled in the New York Times. In the piece, she discusses her new work, "He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing,” set to premiere at Lincoln Center on August 9th. She took inspiration from the letters of the composer Robert Schumann to his mother, in which he struggled with his mental health. The piece brings her work into context with larger movements among modern composers of advocating for mental health. In addition, her premiere will be on a program that includes Robert Schumann's Second Symphony, putting her in conversation with him.
Congrats, Hannah!
