The Department warmly congratulates Dr. Michael Weinstein-Reiman, who on May 10, 2021 successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation in Music Theory entitled "Touch and Modernity in French Keyboard Pedagogy, 1715-1915." The dissertation was advised by Benjamin Steege and the committee also included Roger Grant (Wesleyan), Ellie Hisama, Mariusz Kozak, and Joanna Stalnaker (French).
