The Department warmly congratulates Dr. Qingfan Jiang, who on April 16, 2021 successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation in Historical Musicology entitled "Toward a Global Enlightenment: Music, Missionaries, and the Construction of a Universal History in Seventeenth- and Eighteenth-Century China and Europe." The dissertation was advised by Elaine Sisman and the committee also included  Eric Bianchi (Fordham), Susan Boynton, Julia Doe, and Madeleine Zelin (EALAC).
