The Department warmly congratulates Dr. Yair Klartag, who on March 5, 2019, successfully defended his DMA dissertation in music composition, Post-Ironic Sounds: Wallacian New Sincerity in “Unavoidably Sentimental” for Large Ensemble. Dr. Klartag's dissertation was sponsored by Professor George Lewis, and his committee also included Professors Fred Lerdahl, Georg Friedrich Haas, Chaya Czernowin (Harvard), and Eric Wubbels.
